Came across an article/blog listing 10 ways Journalism has changed in the last ten years from the website ONLINE JOURNALSIM BLOG. The world of mass media has slowly been creeping up the “paper” word of Journalism and is now here and taking control; taking control in a good way and in some bad ways. Newspapers are in the past and the WEB is now and the FUTURE! The WEB has provided anyone who’s anyone to post whatever they consider “news” and then anyone who’s anyone can respond. Here is some of the 10 they have listed…
1. Relationships between writer and reader have changed. The relationships have become closer, with loyal readers. This is due to the accessibility of e-mail and as “readers, listeners, and watchers became users.”
2. The rise of blogs. From posting articles, pictures, or videos any type of current event, news, music, entertainment is now on the web with full access to. Is this real news?
3. Before it was your fault if you were not there for the distribution of the newspaper. Now, it’s become aware that for newspapers to “be where the reader is.”
4. Everything is LITERALLY A CLICK AWAY! With the web everything is now connected. You search one thing, and a hyperlinks related to that topic will pop up as well. Why have your finger tips stained black searching through pages of a newspaper for information that may not even be in there, when you can pull up numerous WebPages or unlimited information?
5. Web users have taken “a step across the Atlantic.” Don’t worry about the news in your country; want to know what’s going on in London? OR maybe the Middle East, or how about Tokyo? Yep, now with the web you’re just a click away.
