The Target Is In Site

Before you can hit the target you need to aim. Before you can aim at the target you need to find the target.
How do you find your social media target? A person can set up a Facebook and a Twitter account in their sleep and then BAM; they have joined the worldwideconversation! But, how do you get them to join your conversation?

YourTarget Audience: the community of people who are interested in the things you do, who listen to what you say, and who are more likely to be your prospective customers.

First, you need to search several social media sites for “keywords” or “phrases” of your industry in the site’s search box. The most popular social media sites you should start with are:
Twitter
Youtube
Facebook
Digg
StumpleUpon

Twitter hashtags can help you narrow down your target audience search. The hashtag symbol # is used before relevantkeywords in a tweet. By clicking on a hashtag #, you can see all the tweets that have that same hashtag #. If you wanted to search for #social media, #casino, #onlinemarketing, etc… this can all be done by a hashtag # search and this will leave alist of all users who have used the same keywords. This not only allows you to find people tweeting about your topic but also allows your tweets to become more visible when someone is searching for tweets related to your industry. The end, an opportunity to gain a follower.
